Today’s sketch was actually painted on vellum, for a paper-chandelier installation that’s going up in a local Seattle salon (more on that later!) The vellum medium lends itself to a more loose and simplistic quality that I really like – and her cerulean (not blue, not turquoise, not lapis, but cerulean, as Miranda-Priestly-Meryl-Streep pointedly phrased it) shoes are giving my Monday morning a much-needed burst of cheerfulness. Blue skies are on their way! Right…right?
